Home Deptt prepares comprehensive security plan for entire HC complex

JAMMU, May 9: Home Department today placed before the High Court a comprehensive security plan for the entire court complex at Janipur whereby installation of more CCTV cameras, raising of height of boundary walls and construction of alternative road to new parking have been proposed.
The comprehensive security plan was placed before the Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal in a sealed cover by Senior Additional Advocate General Wasim Sadiq Nargal in compliance to the order passed on April 10, 2017.
After going through the report and hearing Senior Additional Advocate General Wasim Sadiq Nargal for the Home Department, the DB found it appropriate to implead Law and Finance Departments as party respondents in the writ petition titled Sumit Nayyar Versus State through Home Department and Others.
Accordingly, the DB issued notices to Law and Finance Departments which were accepted by Senior AAG H A Siddiqui and Government Advocate Tarun Sharma. Senior AAG Seema Shekhar, who was appearing on behalf of the Public Works Department, was given copy of the writ petition.
While taking report of the Home Department on record, the DB directed the Registrar General to take up the matter with the concerned departments pertaining to the proposals which have been submitted with regard to raising of the height of the boundary walls as well as construction of alternative road to new parking and also installation of CCTV cameras/surveillance system at the High Court Complex, Janipur.
The DB also granted three weeks time to Senior AAG Wasim Sadiq Nargal to seek instructions and make a statement with regard to the measures to be taken in respect of comprehensive security plan.
