Jammu, Apr 4: On behalf of people of Jammu, chief priest of Raghunath Temple, Secretary Er. Shashi Khajuria, Davinder Sharma, Ajay Chaudhry, Bharat Chaudhry, Management and Staff of Buds School and other devotees of Adi Shankara offered holy soil from Raghunath Temple into the Kalash. Holy Kalash Yatra had reached Jammu after visiting Panipat, Patiala, Mansadevi Temple Chandigarh, Amritsar, Harmandir Temple, Ram Tirth, Luv Kush Temple and Pathankot.
The priests welcomed Kalash amidst the chantings of Vedic Mantras and offered flowers to holy Kalash which is being taken to Kedarnath in Himalayas for recreation of Adi Guru Shankaracharya Samadhi Sthal. Earlier Kalash Yatra was welcomed in Buds School premises by the Management, Staff and Students.
Months after the Adi Shankaracharya’s Samadhi mandir near the holy Sri Kedarnath shrine got swept away in the devastating flash floods that rocked Uttarakhand state last year, a group of spiritual exponents have embarked on a nationwide journey in a bid to recreate the place giving an entirely divine touch to the initiative. The New Delhi-based ‘Faith Foundation’ commenced its journey from Kaladi in Kerala, the birth place of Adi Shankara, on February 14 to reach Kedarnath on June 16, the day the tragedy rocked the Himalayan region last year.
‘Mission Kaladi to Kedar’, a road journey touching holy centres, associated with Adi Shankara, dotted in various states, including Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and Pashupati Nath in Nepal, would collect holy soil, as part of recreating the Shankara Samadhi Sthal with spiritual dignity,” Col. (Retd) H. Ashok Kini, who heads the 11-member team, told here as part of the mission. Yatra has completed 12 states and now entering Uttar Pradesh. Shankala Ghat in Madhya Pradesh where Adi Shankara got deeksha and Shringeri, Dwaraka and Puri Peeths are most prominent spiritual places from where team has collected holy soil apart from main old temples and holy places from 12 states.
Team members earlier had visited the four mathas, last year ahead of planning their journey and received blessings from present Shankaracharyas. They also met the Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand and Kerala twice to brief them about their travel plans, Col. Kini said adding that the leaders had lauded their initiatives.
