POONCH, Nov 20: Ashok Kaul, general secretary (Org.) today said conducting DDC elections in Jammu and Kashmir is a big achievement of Modi Government.
While chairing series of meetings during his two days visit in Rajouri, Poonch and Nowshera he said it is Modi Government which took initiative to strengthen grass root democratic institutions in J&K after over 70 years of independence as successive governments till date deprived the people of real democracy and instead empowered their own dynasties at the cost of common masses of the erstwhile State.
MP (Rajya Sabha), Shamsher Singh Manhas, J&K BJP vice-president & former Minister, Sham Lal Sharma, former Minister, Abdul Ghani Kohli, former VC, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, election Incharge, Poonch, Varinderjit Singh, former MLC, Pardeep Sharma, BJP spokesperson, Sunil Gupta, district incharge Poonch, Dinesh Sharma, district president, Poonch Mohd Rafiq Chisti, district president, Rajouri, Rajinder Gupta, district president, Nowshera Capt. (retd) Balkrishan and other party senior leaders also addressed the meetings.
Ashok Kaul said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi led Union Government is the first that has truly worked for the empowerment of common masses in India. He said that conducting BDC elections earlier and now DDC elections in Jammu & Kashmir is a major step in this connection.
Kaul added that DDC elections will take the administration to the lowest level which will be fully equipped to pace the development works needed at the local level. Moreover, he said that candidates fielded by BJP are all connected to their roots in their respective constituencies which will prove to be an edge in the development process.
Shamsher Singh Manhas said that earlier governments in J&K chiefly represented by the constituents of Gupkar Gang never really worked for the needy persons and utterly failed in providing governance to the masses, instead parties like NC, Congress and PDP were only catering to the interests of their personal families.
Sham Lal Sharma focused on the benefits of the DDC elections to the common masses and appealed to the local leaders to work together to ensure win of BJP candidates.
Abdul Ghani Kohli said that this time the mood of the people is in clear favour of BJP candidates and added that majority voters are going to vote in favour of party.
