SRINAGAR, June 14: The Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department has cancelled two transfers initiated by the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) earlier this month.
It has been learned that the cancellations were made after it was discovered that the transfers were carried out in violation of the transfer policy and without adhering to the established rules and regulations governing such actions.
The transfers were implemented through Order No. 59/NG of 2023 dated June 3 and involved the relocation of Section Officers, Gh. Qadir Malik from the DHS Office in Srinagar to District Hospital Budgam, where he was directed to work in the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in Budgam. Mohammad Amin was transferred from the CMO office in Budgam to the DHS office in Srinagar.
However, in response to the transfer order, the H&ME Department has issued a directive to rescind the transfers approved by the Directorate of Health, Kashmir.
The order states, “It is hereby ordered that the Order No. 59/NG of 2023 dated 03.06.2023 issued by the Director Health Services, Kashmir under endorsement No. PS/DHSK/2023/2173-79 dated 03.06.2023 is hereby rescinded ab-initio.”
Sources noted that the transfers were premature and executed without adhering to the prescribed rules and norms and that the administration viewed the violation seriously, leading to the subsequent cancellation order.
