HM ultra held from Sealdah Express with pistols, rounds

JAMMU, May 10: Pathankot police today arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen militant from Sealdah Express at Chakki Bank railway station in Pathankot district of Punjab and recovered two pistols along with ammunition from his possession.
The militant has been identified as Parvez-ul-Islam son of Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Pulwama district in the Kashmir Valley.
Reports received here said a police team headed by SSP Pathankot Koushal Kumar had laid a naka at Chakki Bank railway station in Pathankot district of Punjab after developing specific input about the movement of a Hizbul Mujahideen militant at Sealdah Express.
As soon as the train touched Chakki Bank railway station, police sealed all exit routes and captured the militant, who was in possession of two pistols, four magazines and 40 rounds.
Police whisked away the militant to Pathankot police station for sustained interrogation to ascertain his motive behind travelling to Jammu along with consignment of two pistols and ammunition.
Police allowed the train to leave for Jammu after sanitizing the coaches and ensuring that no other militant was on board the Jammu bound train.
Further investigations were being conducted by Pathankot police.
Sources said Jammu Police was likely to establish contact with their counterparts in Pathankot to officially get details of the arrest of the Hizbul Mujahideen militant and recoveries made from him.
