JAMMU, Mar 16: Gharota Police solved Hit and Run case with the arrest of the accused driver.
As per police sources, information was received at Police Station Gharota from reliable sources that a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CP-0646 being driven by Constable Sudarshan Singh, posted at Crime Headquarters Panjtirthi, son of Swaran Singh of Malal Khour was hit by a tempo bearing registration number JK02AS-5520 coming from Aghore towards Jammu. The driver of the tempo fled away from spot along with vehicle.
Acting over the information, a case under FIR Number 18/2021 under Sections 279 and 337 IPC was registered at Police Station Gharota and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Gharota led by SHO Inspector Khyati Maan Khajuria arrested the accused driver of the vehicles, who was identified as Mohammad Aftar, son of Mohammad Shahjahan from Kot Bhalwal area of District Jammu. On his disclosure, vehicle bearing registration number JK02AS 5520 was also recovered and seized.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
