JAMMU, Feb 5: Bathindi Police solved a hit and run case with the arrest of accused driver.
As per police sources, on January 24 this year, one unknown vehicle driven by unknown person hit a pedestrian lady namely Aliya Devi, wife of Dalip Kumar of Rajiv Nagar Narwal at Malik Market resulting into injuries to her.
A case under FIR Number 31/2021 under Sections 279 and 337 IPC was registered in Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Post Bathindi led by Inspector Kamalpreet Singh under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Deepak Pathania traced out the Alto car involved in the accident with the help of CCTV camera footage and finally arrested the accused driver.
The arrested driver has been identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of late Gurdas Lal, a resident of Smailpur, tehsil Bari Brahmana district Samba.
The Alto car bearing registration number JK02BS-3486, which was involved in the accident was also seized. Further investigation into the case is going on.
