NEW DELHI, July 22: The Government said on Monday that in first 50 days of their second stint, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA dispensation has increasingly worked towards ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and taken historic decisions for faster development in infrastructure, education and all sections of the society.
“Within 50 days, the Government has taken historic decisions for faster development in infrastructure, education, for farmers, unemployed youth, middle class, traders and all sections of society,” said Union Minister Prakash Javadekar presenting 50-day report card of the Modi Government 2.0.
Addressing reporters here, Mr Javadekar said these 50 days show that the second term of the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government will be more effective and give justice to all.
The Modi Government has extended the benefit of Rs 6,000 per year under the PM-KISAN scheme to all farmers in the country, he said, adding that MSP for them has increased up 2-3 times of the cost price.
The Government is set to bring new labour legislation by merging all laws under four categories which will deal with wages, social security, industrial safety and welfare, and industrial relations, the BJP leader said.
He said in its first decision of its second tenure, Narendra Modi Government has enhanced the amount to be paid as part of ‘Prime Ministers Scholarship Scheme’ and enhanced scholarships for wards of police personnel martyred in terror or Maoist attacks.
Mr Javadekar said for the first time , pension was started for traders.
The Government has worked in the direction for affordable houses for all and provided cheap loans, he said.
The Minister said India is set to become a five trillion dollar economy by 2024 and a coherent roadmap for sectors that will drive growth and innovation among citizens.
Highlighting other decisions and measures of the Government, the Information and Broadcasting minister said to encourage entrepreneurs, there will a channel dedicated for Start-ups, and other schemes to increase the investment in the country.
He maintained that the Government has set up National Research Foundation which will assimilate the research grants being given by various ministries independent of each other.
Rs 100 lakh crore for the infrastructure, third phase of Grameen Sadak Yojana and water management for providing tapped potable water were some of the schemes the government has planned for the country, Mr Javadekar said.
Outlining other achievements in the first 50 days of the Modi Government, he said fight against corruption is full swing and fugitives who fled the country, after looting public money were arrested.
New laws are being brought in the field of education, child abuse, surrogacy and transgenders, he said.
Historic decisions have been taken and a clear roadmap has been laid out for the progress of the country, the Minister said this morning.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in on May 30 after the BJP won 303 seats-the first time since 1971 that an incumbent Government returned to power with such a thumping mandate. (UNI)
