JAMMU, Dec 9: Himalayan College of Education,Rajouri organised an Extension Lecture on the topic ”Development of Creativity among the Elementary Grade Children” delivered by Aronesh Sharma Principal Higher Sec. School Dhandkote, Rajouri.
A large number of students along with teachers and members of the management took part with great enthusiasm.
Sharma in his talk discussed the need and importance of developing creativity among the children. He stated that creative development is fundamental to successful learning and being creative enables children to make connections between one area of learning to another.
He opined that the teaching learning process has undergone a fundamental change so far as the contents, methodology, teaching aids and audio-visual technology is concerned and therefore it is imperative for all those connected with this pious mission of emancipation and enlightenment to update themselves with the latest trends and approaches to enable our younger lot to excel at all fronts.
He also discussed some Stages of Play such as solitary play, onlooker play, parallel play etc. to imbibe among the children the spirit of creativity and shared some of his experiences with the audience present there.
This talk was then followed by question answer session in which both college staff and students actively participated.
The event ended with the vote of thanks presented by Principal Himalayan College of Education.
