Himalayan Avian starts Jammu Chapter

JAMMU, Dec 12: ‘The Himalayan Avian’-a Trust for study and research on birds today started its Jammu Chapter.
On inaugural function, MLC Vikram Randhawa was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest said that people should understand the importance of nature. “There are many wetlands and other water bodies which should be connected with people, with the view point of tourism development,” he said.
He also referred to Gharana Wetland and said that one should understand what nature gives us and it is our moral duty to protect these places.
He also interacted with environmentalists and members of the organisation.
Brij Mohan Gulati, Suresh Kumar, Rajesh Kesari, Jyoti Prakash, Sunita Bangotra, R.L Bangotra, Narinder Dutt, Parminder Singh were also presented on the occasion. Guldev Raj presented a vote of thanks.
