Hilly, rural areas confronting development deficit: Sadhotra

BILLAWAR, Mar 28: J&K National Conference today kick- started election campaign for the INDI Alliance candidate Ch Lal Singh, signaling a strong push towards victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
In this regard, a day-long convention was organised under the chairmanship of Thakur Suram Singh, senior NC leader and former Minister in Billawar area of district Kathua.
On the occasion, Ajay Sadhotra, additional general secretary JKNC and former Minister, Rattan Lal Gupta- Provincial president, Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo Zonal president Chenab Valley and former Minister, Ram Pal Zonal president Jammu- Samba- Kathua and former Minister, Abdul Ghani Malik, Zonal president Udhampur- Reasi and former minister, Laxmi Dutta, Harshvardan, Ayub Malik Provincial secretary and Amrish Sharma were also present.
Th Suram Singh raised serious concern over lack of support from the incumbent Government. He said that the hilly, rural and far off areas are being discriminated badly by the present Government. He maintained that the present Government has miserably failed to provide basic amenities to the general public.
Sadhotra observed that the ground situation in context with the development in the rural and hilly belts is pathetic as people are craving for basic amenities. He said that people are confronting development deficit but the Government is busy in spreading false narrative of colossal development in far off belts of J&K, which is a white lie as on ground people are facing multiple problems with no solution in sight.
Rattan Lal Gupta, criticised the present Government for its failure to stand on the expectations of people of Billawar, Bani Basohli area of Kathua district. He emphasized that only NC can bail out people from this misery as castles of development made by J&K Government in air are distant apart from reality. He called upon party workers to gear up for the upcoming polls.
Senior leaders Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo, Babu Ram Pal, Abdul Gani Malik and Laxmi Dutta also spoke on the occasion and alleged that present Government has miserably failed to address the problems being faced by youth of hilly and remote areas due to highest ever employment in J&K.
