The fact that in the first phase of polling in the state of Jammu and Kashmir has been at par with the trend in other parts of the country shows that people besides wanting a complete change of the guard at the centre also have reiterated their faith in the democratic set up of our country. Between 68% to 74% voting has been witnessed in the phase 1 for Jammu – Poonch Lok Sabha seat .
The polling has remained peaceful which also indicates that casting vote and expressing the political will can do a lot as desired and any violent means or calls for boycott etc are only negative approaches to solve our national problems. It is up to the elected representatives to come up to the expectations of the people to escape the wrath of the people by rejecting them in the next poll.
