High Performance Supercomputing Center inaugurated at JPIIT

JAMMU, Dec 22: On the occasion of National Mathematics Day which is celebrated on the birth anniversary of one of the greatest Mathematicians S. Ramanujan, a High Performance Supercomputing Center (HPC) called “Ramanujan Universe” was inaugurated at the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JPIIT), Noida here today.
The HPC facility was inaugurated by Prof. Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary AICTE.
The newly developed HPC facility has 8, A100 GPU cards accelerated node, 6 compute nodes, 384 cores, more than 3500GB RAM & 100GB infiniband connectivity with performance of the scale of Petaflops.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rajive Kumar said that the Ramanujan Universe signifies a significant leap in the computational capabilities, providing researchers and students with the tools necessary to tackle high-end, complex computing problems.
He highlighted the new initiatives being taken by Jaypee Universities to foster innovation in this TECHADE and further emphasized that this decade (2020-2030) is the Decade of Innovation & informed that all its Academicians, researchers & students of all Jaypee Universities and schools will be provided access to Ramanujan Universe.
In the current Digital World of artificial intelligence and machine learning, it is essential that students in technical education and researchers have access to high performance computing & even Government of India is taking several initiatives in this direction.
During the event, contributions of Srinivasa Ramanujan were discussed and a short play by the students of Jaypee Public school was also performed. The event was attended by several academicians, researchers, & industry persons.
