JAMMU, Jan 4: A high-level team headed by Divisional Commissioner Jammu today inspected two upcoming hotels and a mall to ascertain violations, if any, of the Building Bye-laws.
The inspection was in compliance to the directives issued by Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh during the Board of Directors meeting of Jammu Development Authority held recently.
The team led by Divisional Commissioner, Dr Pawan Kotwal and Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Danesh Rana and comprised of Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Vice-Chairman, Jammu Development Authority and Chief Engineer, R&B inspected under construction Radison Hotel near Kunjwani, Raman Hotel at Bikram Chowk and a mall on Canal Road.
Though prima facie no violation of Building Bye-laws was noticed in respect of Radison and Raman Hotels, flouting of norms was noticed in mall on Canal Road. Taking serious note of this, Divisional Commissioner directed the Municipal Commissioner to ensure that no water or power connection is issued to the commercial complex till rectification of violations.
“Similar inspections would continue in the future also”, an official said, adding “from now onwards, the administration would ensure that no water or power connection is given to the structures which are coming up in violation of approved plans”.
