SRINAGAR: In view of fresh rain, the Divisional Administration of Kashmir this evening issued a fresh high danger avalanche warning for hilly and avalanche prone areas of Kashmir valley and border district of Kargil in Ladakh region.
An official spokesman said the warning has been issued for avalanche-prone slopes of Kulgam and Shopian in south Kashmir, Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara in north and Ganderbal in central valley, besides Kargil district in Ladakh region. Medium danger avalanche warning has been issued for avalanche-prone slopes of Anantnag district, he added.
Accordingly, all concerned Deputy Commissioners have been asked to take precautionary measures in their respective districts and advise people not to venture in avalanche-prone areas during the aforementioned period and monitor the situation regularly, to avert any untoward incident. (AGENCIES)
