POONCH, Feb 26: District Police Poonch apprehended three notorious drug peddlers along with 3.344 kgs of heroin (Chitta) in Poonch.
Official sources said that continuing its war against drug menace the police along with army and CRPF launched a joint operation during the intervening night of 25/26 Feb 2023 in Degwar Maldialan, Noorkot and Nakarkot border area and during morning hours today, the security forces achieved a great success by recovering 3.344 kilograms of heroin worth crores from Degwar Maldialan and arrested three persons.
They were identified as Mohd Aslam (50), son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Degwar Maldialan; Mohd. Jahangir (31), son of Mohd Sadeeq, resident of Nakarkot Degwar and Mohd Bashir (40), son of Habib Ullah from Nakarkot Degwar. Some more arrests and recoveries cannot be ruled out in the instant case, the police said.
In this connection, police registered a case under relevant sections of law in Police Station Poonch and investigation of the case has been taken up.
