UDHAMPUR, May 22: Continuing its offensive to contain the spread of narcotic drugs & psychotropic substances, Udhampur police under the supervision of SSP Rajiv Pandey today arrested two drug peddlers from Jakhani Chowk and seized 18 gms of Heroin from their possession.
The accused, identified as Shakeel Ahmed of Jakhani and Tariq of Banihal, were apprehended during a naka by Udhampur Police, led by SHO Udhampur, Insp Vijay Singh Choudhary under the supervision of Rohit Chadgal , DySP Hqrs Udhampur and Rajinder Kumar Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur.
During search, two packets of Heroin, 10 grams and 08 grams, were recovered from their possession. Police seized the recovered Heroin and arrested both the accused on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR number 236/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is taken up.
Meanwhile, in another success against illicit liquor, Udhampur Police today smashed an illicit liquor kiln at Village Danhota under the jurisdiction of PS Panchari .
Based on a specific information, a police team of Police Station Panchari, led by SHO Farooq, conducted a raid in the house of Chainnu son of Premu of village Danhota, Panchari and recovered around 30 litres Lahan, which was being used for preparing illicit liquor. Besides, 1.5 litres of illicit Desi liquor was also recovered from the house. Police seized the recovered liquor and destroyed the Lahan on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR number 29/2019 U/S 48 (E) Excise Act was registered at Police Station Panchari .
