JAMMU, Jan 19: Hemophiliac Parents Society Jammu (HPSJ) today alleged that various patients of Hemophilia suffering from last 2 months in the absence of life saving medicines factor -8 and factor -9 in Jammu hospitals.
Addressing a press conference here today, HPSJ members criticized the Government for not formulating any policy for Hemophilia patients. In the absence of regular fund flow patients are left to die as life saving drugs are not available in the Jammu hospitals.
In the absence of these life saving drugs, Hemophilia patients are forced to take FFP and CRYO thus endangering them to Hepatotropic viral diseases like Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C, besides dreaded HIV.
They said even the Government has no regards for High Court order which has kept the provision of round the clock factor availability for Hemophilia patients.
Stressing that a policy for Hemophilia patients needs to be worked out in consultation with professionals, they demanded that factor -8 and factor -9 medicines be provided in Jammu hospitals.
