HED announces admissions to Degree Colleges, UG/IG programs of JU

SRINAGAR, June 15: The Higher Education Department has announced commencement of admissions for various Four Year Undergraduate Programs (FYUGP) and Integrated PG Programs with multiple-exit options across all Degree Colleges of J&K and UG/IG Programmes being offered at main/off site campuses of University of Jammu for the academic session 2025-2026.
More than 50 major subject choices are available for the students. The students desirous of seeking admissions, irrespective of whether they have appeared in CUET or not, are required to register themselves on the Centralised Admission Website https://jkadmission.samarth.ac.in/ from 16-06-2025 to 07-07-2025 and submit their preferences for choice of College and major subjects from 03-07-2025 to 09-07-2025.
The allotment of major subject and colleges will be conducted in various phases starting from July 11, 2025 strictly as per merit, viz. CUET score for CUET colleges and 10+2 score for Non-CUET colleges (leftover seats shall be filled as per 10+2 merit in all colleges).
As per a communique issued here in this regard, the Admission Counselling and Facilitation Centers have been established in every degree college of J&K. The aspirants are advised, in their own interest, to utilise the services available at these centers at the time of form submission and preference-filling in order to avoid incorrect form/preference submission.
Meanwhile, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Higher Education Department, Shantmanu unveiled significant new ICT based initiatives aimed at bolstering academic excellence and fostering stronger connections between the department and colleges as well as students.
The launch, attended by the college principals and faculty, marks a pivotal step towards enhancing the transparency and streamlining data flow within the Higher Education system.
A cornerstone of these advancements is the launch of website of the Directorate of Colleges J&K, www.directorcollegesjk.in, developed entirely in-house, which introduces innovative features like The Policy Planning and Development Portal, Staff Services Portal and SIGMA – Student Integrated Grievance and Messaging Application.
The ACS had desired for redressal of student grievances in a timely manner and the launch of SIGMA will work in that direction, said Director Colleges, Dr. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir.
The Staff Services Portal will enable the staff members to submit and track applications digitally for a range of essential services. The staff can apply for services like Passport NOC, Foreign Visit NOC and PhD permission from anywhere, at any time, eliminating the need for physical visits and paperwork. These streamlined digital workflows will reduce the processing time and administrative burden, allowing the staff to focus more on their core responsibilities.
