Jammu, Mar 31: Heavy rush is being witnessed to holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji during past three days due to consecutive holidays.
Today 40,000 pilgrims left Katra for the shrine when yatra was stopped at 9 pm, reports said. Taking on-line registration into account, today’s yatra could be around 47,000, they added.
On Thursday and Friday, the yatra was stopped around 44,000. However, the stranded pilgrims are allowed to leave Katra in wee hours of the morning when yatris start returning from Bhawan and enroute.
It may be mentioned here that the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has capped the daily yatra at 50,000.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board authorities have been monitoring arrangements for the pilgrims.
