KATHUA, Jan 3: Minister for Health and Medical Education Ch. Lal Singh, today said that the healthcare sector is being revamped and upgraded with the expansion of a better diagnostic and treatment healthcare network to every part of the state with emphasis on far off and unattended pockets.
The Minister, while addressing a public meeting at Lakhanpur, Kathua, reiterated the endeavour of present dispensation of providing best possible medicare to people of the State who otherwise have to wander from pillar to post for want of these basic services.
Spelling out several innovative measures being taken up to further streamline this vital department, the Minister said that it is our prime concern to make enhanced healthcare services an easily accessible utility for the people.
Lal Singh said that an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in implementation of healthcare schemes and delivery of services. He exhorted upon the officers to ensure better medicare to the people across the State. He asked the officers to chalk out strategies to improve health scenario in the state adding that the government is putting focus on this priority sector.
The Minister, while counting key accomplishments of the government, said that work on vital road links is in full swing and with the completion of these roads the connectivity scenario in Basohli will be improved to a great extent. He said Jakhole and Juthana bridge will be taken up very shortly. He said with the commissioning of Atal Setu bridge the tourist influx will get a boost, adding that Rs.500 crore Water Sports Project at Ranjit Sagar Dam Lake, Basohli Paintings School and World Famous Pashmina Shawl will be the key attractions for tourists.
Expressing concern over the menace of drug abuse, Lal Singh urged upon youth to channelize their energies in a right direction and contribute in building a strong nation rather than marching aimlessly towards self-destruction. “Youth has the power and potential to bring about the required changes in the society and the only need is to channelize the same in a right perspective”, he maintained.
Responding to the demands of the people of Lakhanpur and adjoining areas, Ch Lal Singh assured upgradation of Government High School on priority basis. He also assured funds for cremation ground and playground.
MLA Hiranagar Kuldeep Raj, Director ISM, Registrar Homeopathy, ACD and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
