According to sources, the staff treating and dealing with Corona victims in the Ward are worried for their own safety as well as the safety of their family members including old age parents. However, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Jammu, Dr J P Singh said that there are now changed guidelines about Corona. Even the people testing positive for COVID can go to their home under the new guidelines so what is harm in case the doctors and para medical staff deployed in the hospitals for treatment of COVID patients are asked to go to their home.
He said everywhere doctors and even officers deployed on COVID duty go to their home and they are not quarantined any where. Some of them too have old parents but they have no objection. He said the health workers of RS Pura SDH too have to go to their home after completion of their duty.
He however said that the COVID Centre at RS Pura Hospital will be closed within some days as it is adjacent to Labour Room in the Hospital which can put the lives of mothers as well as children to grave risk. He said the labour room is permanent in the Hospital and the same can’t be shifted so the COVID Ward is to be closed.
