Headmasters demand non-vacation status

JAMMU, Apr 20: The Headmasters across J&K Union Territory, under the banner of School Education Headmasters Association have demanded their regularization and non- vacation status.
Coordinator of the Association, Roop Lal said that the Government has constituted a committee to redress the various issues of subordinates staff of Education Department vide order No: 78-Edu of 2019 Dated 12-03-2020 which has to look into various issues including non-vacation status in respect of Principals but the Headmasters have been ignored for the same even as nature of job of Headmasters & Principals is quite similar.
“Headmasters also have to work as Drawing & Disbursing officer, have to work for full calender year without availing any holidays such as summer/ winter break for drawing salaries of the staff, running dak information and other so many official works,” he said and demanded grant of non-vacation status for Headmasters also.
The Association leader also demanded removal of pay anomaly of Headmasters by revising their pay band PB-2 (9300-34800) under grade pay 5200 to level 8A (50700-160600) and bringing them at par with the Lectures.
The Association discussed and highlighted these issues during a telephonic meeting between the members, who included Subash Chander, Rakesh Chander, K L Kaith, Rajinder Kumar, Anita Sharma, Nirmal Kumari, Amarjeet Kour, Rita Angral, Abdul Wahid, Gh Nabi, Abdul Rafiq, Purshottam Sharma, Puran Chand, Amar Nath, Surjit Singh and others.
