UDHAMPUR, Dec 10: On the basis of preliminary inquiry into mysterious death of a girl student and a minor student falling ill allegedly due to overdose of Folic Acid tablets provided by a school,  the Chief Education Officer Udhampur today ordered  attachment of  head teacher among two and charge sheeting entire staff of the school as well as ZEO Jib, whose salary was also withheld.
According to the CEO  Balbir Singh, the ZEO Jib and all  staff members of Middle School Kotli Bala have been held responsible for negligence  and charge sheeted  besides stoppage of their salary till final outcome of the inquiry. However, head teacher Babli Devi and Supplement Incharge  Sunita Devi, an RET regularized teacher, have been attached with the CEO office for facing inquiry, he added.
The CEO also informed that during the course of inquiry, it was revealed that the girl student Shivani Sharma had died not because of Folic Acid tablets but other reasons but  other student Rahil Sharma had fallen ill due to consumption of overdose of Iron Folic supplement.
The ZEO Jib had allegedly not imparted the instruction to the Headmaster Middle School Kotli Bala despite instructions for the same by CEO.  As per the statement of the head teacher, she  had distributed the Folic Acid tablets to the students from Class I to VIII for whole month for consumption of one tablet daily after meal whereas the instructions  were issued to the ZEO for distribution of one tablet  once in a week only and that too for the students from class 6th to 12th.
The CEO has submitted the preliminary report to the Director School Education Jammu while a committee, headed by District Education Planning Officer Udhampur, Bimal Rai has been constituted for conducting a detailed inquiry into the entire episode.
