JAMMU, Nov 21: High Court today directed the State to file status report in the death of one Jasjit during the riots at Satwari within a period of two weeks.
The direction was passed in a petition seeking CBI probe and also ex-gratia relief of Rs 25 lakh to the family of the deceased.
After hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Abdul Rouf Lone appearing for the petitioner, Justice Tashi Rabstan issued notice to Home Secretary, Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, IGP Jammu, SSP Jammu and others returnable within two weeks.
In the meanwhile, High Court directed respondents to file status report of the case.
