SRINAGAR, Oct 14: Jammu and Kashmir High Court today ordered of hearing the petition on beef ban issue in both wings of the Court at Srinagar and Jammu.
As already directed in terms of Supreme Court Order a full bench has been constituted to hear the matter on Friday at Srinagar wing of High Court, the Registrar General of the High Court, Kaneez Fatima, issued an order indicating therein that the matter after its first hearing at Srinagar wing will be heard at Jammu wing of High Court and the date of hearing will be decided by the full bench itself on Friday.
“Since the matter has been listed at Srinagar Wing of the High Court the first hearing will be at Srinagar Wing of the High Court on October 16, 2015 as has been already reflected in the Cause List of this week. Date of hearing at Jammu Wing of the High Court will be decided by the Hon’ble Full Bench”, reads the order of Registrar General.
The order further indicates that the Full Bench shall hear the case at Srinagar and Jammu Wing of the High Court following the past practice of hearing similar matters by the Judges in both the Wings and passing common orders.
The Full Bench was constituted in terms of Supreme Court order dated 5.10.2015, as the State had moved to the Apex Court with the plea that the two different orders passed by two division benches of the High Court which created confusion in the general public.
