Srinagar, Nov 8: Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir today stayed the transfer order of an Executive Engineer in Central Public Works Department.
The petitioner Ram Gopal Meena, working in the department at Srinagar Central division since July 2012, was being transferred from Srinagar to Kolkatta.
His counsel pleaded before the court that his petitioner has been “prematurely” transferred to Srinagar from Patna, and has not yet completed two years of minimum posting here.
Citing a circular of the PWD, the counsel pointed out any employee who is being transferred to “hard area” can exercise his option to choose any place of posting.
The bench also issued a notice to the Department’s officials in New Delhi and Jammu.
