HC stays shifting of village from one tehsil to another

JAMMU, May 25: High Court today stayed shifting of a village from one tehsil to another and issued notice to Commissioner Secretary to Government, Department of Rural Development and Panchyati Raj, Commissioner Secreatry Revenue and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri returnable within four weeks.
The shifting of village Bagla from tehsil Rajouri to newly created tehsil Quila Darhal was challenged by the inhabitants of Bagla, who submitted that village Bagla was originally included in the Block Doongi of tehsil Rajouri but in terms of SRO-488 the village was delinked from Block Doongi and included in the newly created tehsil Quila Darhal.
After hearing Advocate Vikram Sharma appearing for the petitioners, Justice Bansi Lal Bhat said that subject to objections from other side and till next date of hearing, shifting of Bagla from its original tehsil Rajouri to newly created tehsil Quila Drahal shall remain stayed.
