Srinagar, Sept 6: The Division Bench of Chief Justice Badar Durrez Ahmad and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey has sought response from various authorities including Chief Secretary of the State about the status of wetlands.
DB has taken suo moto cognizance of a request made by the Supreme Court by virtue of order dated 3.4.2017 wherein Chief Justice of the State has been directed to deal with the issue.
Court today in the first instance made Chief Secretary of the State as party respondent to the PIL along with Commissioner Secretary Forest, Commissioner Secretary H&UDD, Commissioner Secretary Tourism and Commissioner Secretary Revenue and issued notice to these officer.
Court appointed Senior Advocate Z A Shah as Amicus Curie to the PIL and posted the matter for further proceedings on September 25.
