HC seeks case diary in fraud appointments

SRINAGAR, May 14: The High Court today directed the Crime Branch Srinagar to produce the case diary pertaining to a complaint filed with regard to fraudulent appointments in ME& RE Department.
The Court of Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey directed the SSP Crime Branch Srinagar to remain present before the Court along with case diary. “He shall also make an endeavor to complete the investigation expeditiously”, the Court directed.
Counsel appearing for department has been directed to produce copies of order in terms whereof petitioners have been discontinued. Counsel of CB submitted before the Court that the original service books of the petitioners are available including scanned copies. Petitioners have been discontinued from their services but the orders are not placed before the Court.
The SSP Crime Branch Srinagar was under directions of the Court to make available the original service books of the petitioners and also scanned copies on the next date of hearing.
Petitioners who claim to be appointed against Class IV posts between 2004- 09 have filed instant petition, challenging the action of Technical Officer with Executive Engineer, STD Ganderbal, in terms whereof the petitioners were asked to furnish original appointment orders for verification failing which their pay dues were directed to be stopped.
On notice, the Executive Engineer has filed reply and submitted that the petitioners entry in the Government service is by fraudulent means after having procured fake orders of appointment.
It is submitted that the department has already filed complaint before the Crime Branch for registering of cases which stand registered and investigation is going on. It is submitted that the services of the petitioners were discontinued.
