JAMMU, June 1: High Court has restrained the Public Service Commission (PSC) from filling up of 19 posts of Assistant Engineers (Electric) in the Power Development Department.
The order has been passed in a petition filed by Ashish Sharma and others seeking quashment of the Notification No. 07-PSC (DR-P) of 2019 dated 26-04-2019 issued by the PSC and the minutes of meeting dated 23-04-2018 whereby all the candidates including petitioners possessing the qualification of BE Electronics and Communication have been declared ineligible and debarred from applying under the notification for filling up 58 posts of Assistant Engineers (Electric) in the Power Development Department .
After hearing Advocate Abhinav Sharma for petitioner, Justice Sanjeev Kumar issued notice to the respondents and directed that the petitioners shall be allowed to participate in the selection process. “However, their result shall not be declared till next date of hearing. It is further provided that till the matter is considered by this court, 19 posts of Assistant Engineers (Electric) pursuant to the impugned notification dated 26.04.2019, shall not be filled up by the PSC”, Justice Kumar further said.
