HC quashes detention orders

Srinagar, Jan 24:  High Court today quashed detention orders issued by various District Magistrates against the detenues and directed the authorities to release them in case they are not required in any other case.
Justice M K Hanjura quashed the nine detention orders passed under Public Safety Act by various District Magistrates and directed for releasing of these detenues subject to the condition they are not required by the authorities in any other case.
Amongst them is one Ashiq Hussain Bhat, who was detained under No. DMB/PSA/11 of 2017 dated 19-05-2017, passed by the District Magistrate, Badgam.
Apart from that detention orders passed by District Magistrates Shopian, Baramulla, Anantnag and Kupwara passed against-Mohd. Lateef Dar S/o Late Ab. Gani Dar R/o Zawoora, Tehsil & District Shopian, Hashim Ahmad Dar S/o Farooq Ahmad Dar R/o Dar Mohalla, Khanpora, District Baramulla, Ashiq Hussain Teli S/o Mohammad Ashur Teli R/o Mohalla Teliyan, Sopore, District Baramulla, Kashmir, Zubair Mohi-ud-Din Sheikh & JANNA S/o Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Sheikh R/o Fatehgrah, Sheeri, District Baramulla, Abdul Gani Rather, S/o Mohammad Ramzan Rather R/o Waghama, Tehsil Bijbehara, Anantnag, Manzoor Ahmad  hat S/o Mohammad Sultan Bhat R/o Krumhoora, District Kupwara, Shahid Ahmad Wani S/o Ghulam Ahmad Wani R/o Kanigam, Tehsil Chitragam, District Shopian, Ashiq Ahmad Magray S/o Gh. Nabi Magray R/o Kandi Khas, Tehsil Handwara, District Kupwara, have been quashed by the court.
