HC issues contempt notice to 2 police officers

SRINAGAR, Sept 21: High Court today issued contempt notice to two police officers for failing to implement court orders and shielding a police man and directed the Inspector General of Police Kashmir to conduct an enquiry against them.
“Accordingly Registrar Judicial shall ensure necessary process for informing the SSP Ganderbal and SHO Ganderbal to show cause as to why they shall not be punished for contempt of the court for having violated the court order”, Justice Ali Mohd Magrey said.
Justice Magrey also directed Inspector General of Police Kashmir to conduct an enquiry against the SSP, SHO as also Dy SP Pulwama with reference to implementation of court order. “To ensure implementation of the court order with reference to preserving and protecting the dignity of the court, it has become necessary to direct the IGP Kashmir to conduct an enquiry against the SSP Ganderbal, SHO Ganderbal and Dy SP, DAR, Pulwama who all seemingly have avoided the presence of respondent with reference to implementation of court order”, Justice Magrey recorded.
Court directed the IGP to submit the enquiry repot within four days and fix responsibility. “He shall also ensure presence of respondent along with minor child before this court on September 25 at 10 a.m. sharp”, reads the order.
