JAMMU, Aug 9: In a petition filed by Mohinder Singh and others seeking direction to the respondents to invoke the provision of Rule 63-C of J&K Sikh Gurdwaras and Religious Endowment Rules, 1975 and constitute/nominate members of the new DGPC Jammu to look after the affairs and managements of Sikh Gurudwaras in district Jammu and also seeking direction for restraining the official respondents not to discharge the functions of DGPC Jammu, High Court today granted week’s time to the State for filing compliance report.
After hearing Senior Advocate K S Johal with Advocate Ashray Choudhary appearing for the petitioners whereas AAG HA Siddiqui appearing for the State, Justice Tashi Rabstan observed, “AAG has produced a communication dated July 11, 2014 to CEO J&K whereby CEO has been requested that electoral rolls of respective districts in the State may be allowed to be utilized for the preparation of Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Electoral Rolls”, adding “AAG has sought week’s time, which is granted with the direction that the compliance report be filed within a week’s time”.
