SRINAGAR, Oct 24: Jammu and Kashmir High Court today granted a week’s time to the State Government to come up with a policy decision on violations of Srinagar Master Plan.
A Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Ali Mohammad Magray, after hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) on encroachments and violations of Master Plan in Srinagar city, today directed the Advocate General for formulating a Government policy regarding Master Plan violations.
Advocate General Mohammad Ishaq Qadri was granted two days to file Government policy regarding Master Plan violations. But AG informed the court that Government should be given two weeks time for its policy on Master Plan violations.
The court direction early this week came to be passed after the court was appraised that there are larger number of buildings violations, which is approximately over 3000.
