Srinagar, July 13: Coming to rescue of a woman who lost her brother and father in militancy related incident and was appointed on casual basis in the Forest Department, High Court directed the authorities to regularize her services and pay her arrears and other benefits within four weeks.
The Division Bench of High Court Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey while rejecting the appeal filed by State against the Single Bench order whereby respondents were directed to treat the petitioner as daily rated and accord regularization of her services within SRO 64, directed the appellants to implement the order of the Single Judge and pay the arrears of salary and other benefits to the respondent(employee) within a period of four weeks from today.
Court further held in its judgment that in case arrears of salary are not paid to the employee by the authorities within the said period (on or before August 3) then the authorities shall be liable to pay her 9 percent interest for the arrears of salary payable from 2005 onwards.
