JAMMU, Mar 8: High Court has directed Deputy Commis-sioner Rajouri to conduct an inquiry into alleged encroachment long Rajouri-Thanamandi road and take necessary action in accordance with law.
The direction was passed in a petition filed by Haji Mohd Ismail, a resident of Ward No.10 Rajouri.
After hearing counsels for the petitioner and the Government, Justice Alok Aradhe disposed of the writ petition with the direction to the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri to conduct an inquiry whether or not the construction is being raised or has been raised in violation of the Ribbon Development Act, 2007 and whether the Act is applicable to the area.
“After conducting inquiry the Deputy Commissioner shall take appropriate action in accordance with law. He shall also afford opportunity of hearing to the necessary parties”, High Court said.
