HBET gives scholarships to 600 students from financially weak families

JAMMU, Mar 16: Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) celebrated its 22nd Annual Function by giving away scholarships to 600 students among which 80 per cent were girls from rural areas and financially weak families.
The chief guest on this occasion was Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and he distributed the scholarships and encouraged the students.
He emphasized on the need to make the best use of the opportunity provided by the Trust.
A handout of the Trust stated that children travelled from distant villages like Hiranagar, Chak, Rattian, Doomi, Gajansoo, R.S Pura, Birpur, Rehian, Jourian, Dansal, Kangrail, Gurah Slathia, Ghou Manhasan, Saruinsar etc to participate in the function along with their families.
S. Sucha Singh, JMC Corporator of Ward No. 31 was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion the Managing Trustee, Kunil Bhalla dwelt on the activities of the Trust and its future vision.
He said, in addition to providing monetary assistance to the students of the weaker strata of the society, the Trust also organizes free medical camps for poor people.
