JAMMU, Sept 17: Performing of Kanjak Poojans, havans, tree plantation, organising blood donation camps and holding of public meetings and seminars were the main attractions of 69th birthday celebrations of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi across the State today.
BJP national vice-president & Prabhari Jammu & Kashmir, Avinash Rai Khanna performed Kanjak Poojan and havan to pray for long and healthy life of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, which was organized by BJP and Shiv Mandir Committee in Trikuta Nagar here, today.
Avinash Rai Khanna, on the occasion, said that various programmes are being organized across the nation under “Sewa Saptah” to celebrate the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has devoted his life for the selfless service to the nation and society. He said “we all pray for the long and healthy life of Modi Ji and wish that he remains ever active to serve the mankind with vigour”. He said that the Kanjak Poojan and performing of hawan are part of the many programmes like medical camps, planting trees, awareness campaigns on harmful effects of Single Use Plastics (SUP) etc. being organized during “Sewa Saptah”. BJP State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, former Minister Sat Sharma, State general secretary Yudhvir Sethi, MLC Ch. Vikram Randhawa, State spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, State press secretary, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Mahila Morcha State general secretary, Shailja Gupta, Kulbhushan Mohtra, Councillors Ajay Gupta & Neeraj Puri, Baldev Raj, Rajesh Gupta, Rajni Rohmetra, Rekha Mahajan, Ajay Kumar and others took part in the Kanjak Poojan and havan.
A number of programmes were organized at different places including, tree plantation drive organized at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar led by BJP State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul. Plantation drive was organized by BJP State spokesperson Lt. General (Retd.) Rakesh Sharma.
BJP SC Morcha under leadership of its State President, Jagdish Bhagat distributed fruits and sweets in Ashram at Narwal.
Rally on awareness for “No Single Use Plastics” was organized at Ward No. 41 which was led by MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma. Rally was organized by BJP State Secretary & Councillor Ward No. 41 Sanjay Baru.
MP (Rajya Sabha) Shamsher Singh Manhas, Pramod Kapahi, Prabhat Singh Jamwal, Prem Gupta participated in a programme organized by BJP State secretary Arvind Gupta to distribute fruits and juices amongst the hospital inmates at gynae and children patients of SMGS Hospital, Shalamar, Jammu.
MP Jugal Kishore Sharma along with his wife Usha Sharma and Ex MLA Rajesh Gupta along with his wife Anu Gupta and others participated in blood donation camp at Shalamar Hospital blood bank.
MP (Rajya Sabha) Shamsher Singh Manhas, MLC Ashok Khajuria, former MLA Rajesh Gupta and other senior leaders participated in a blood donation camp organized at Kachi Chawni.

On the occasion of birthday of PM Narendra Modi’s birthday and Seva Saptha, a blood donation camp was organized by former Minister and BJP State spokesperson, Priya Sethi.
The women blood donors drawn from different parts of the Jammu donated blood in the camp for security forces.
Priya Sethi who herself donated blood on the occasion said “ when we all sleep in our homes our security persons remain awaken for us and guard our borders to ensure our security,. Today on Modi Ji’s birthday it is the best service to donate blood and convey message to our security forces that we sisters are all with you and can give our blood for you as our beloved PM always says nation first”, she added.
On the occasion of birthday of Prime Minister a special function was organized at Government High School, Dogra Hall of Ward No.8 Jammu to convey the message of “Jammu against plastic pollution” to the students of the school. Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Sat Sharma, Ex-Minister, Dr. Akshay Sharma, Councillor Ward No.8 Dogra Hall, Suresh Salgotra BJP Ward Pardhan of Dogra Hall area, Tasleema Bano Headmaster of the school, staff members, students of the school as well as inhabitants of surrounding areas of Dogra Hall were also present during the function. Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta as well as other dignitaries threw light about the ill effects of polythenes, plastics & other single use items of Plastics on the human beings as well as on whole environment.
As part of ongoing “Sewa Saptah” senior BJP leader and Ex-Minister, Chander Parkash Ganga today inaugurated free Eye Camp at Adda Sarore in Vijaypur.
On the occasion Ganga extended wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 69th birthday and described him a symbol of strong will, decisive leadership and tireless hard work.
