JAMMU, Apr 28: A Maha Yagya was performed by Hari Om Satsang at Durga Mandir Durga Nagar Sector 1 in connection with the birthday of Sant Asa Ram Bapu today.
A large number of devotees participated in the celebrations.
The Hawan started with Kalash Pooja yesterday and Puranahuti was performed this afternoon which was followed by serving of Prashad to devotees. The function was also graced by Relief Commissioner R K Pandita. He said solemnizing such functions is the need of the hour to keep the cultural heritage alive and to create religious and moral values among the younger generations.
He said people should participate enmass in such functions to attain mental peace and solace.
President Welfare Committee Durganagar headed by R L Raina, Mohan Lal, C L Zuthsi and P L Sudeshi also took keen interest in the religious function.
