JAMMU, Mar 9: Bagh-e-Bahu police arrested a hardcore vehicle lifter and recovered a stolen scooty and motorcycle from his possession.
As per police sources, a team from Bagh-e-Bahu police station laid a naka and intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02BG- 9008.
During scrutinizing of documents, it was found that the vehicle was stolen by the rider from parking at Bagh-e-Bahu.
The rider was arrested on the spot, who has been identified as Mohammad Iqbal Mir, son of Gulam Mohi Din of Kupwara.
During questioning, a motorcycle, which the accused has stolen from Qasim Nagar area was also recovered.
Further investigation into the cases registered under FIR Numbers 17/16 29/16 is going on and more recoveries are expected from the accused.
A team headed by PSI Deepak Thakur made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bagh-e-Bahu Vijay Singh Choudhary, SDPO East Chandan Kohli, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Dr Sunil Gupta.
