JAMMU, Mar 23: A notorious criminal was today booked by Gangal police under Public Safety Act (PSA).
“The criminal was identified as Parmjeet Singh alias Murga son of Harnam Singh, resident of Seohra (Gangyal). He was involved in numerous crimes like attempt to murder, criminal assaults, rioting, stabbing, etc”, a police spokesman said, adding, as many as eight FIRs stand registered against him in various cases at police station Gangyal.
The spokesman said that the accused was earlier also booked under PSA by police station RS Pura and he came out after remaining imprisoned for four months. “After coming out from the prison, he again started his criminal activities and in the process went to Pathankot and procured a 12 bore gun from a notorious criminal namely Raju Ungli to eliminate his rivals namly Gaama and Robael of Model Town, Gangyal”, he said.
However, he said, with the timely action of police Paramjeet Singh was arrested with the weapon and ammunition and a gang war was averted. He informed that for his criminal activities, DM Jammu booked Parmjeet under PSA vide Order No 1 dated 23.3.2017 and SSP Jammu was asked to execute the PSA.
The PSA was executed by Inspector Aejaz Wani, SHO, police station Gangyal and SDPO South Rafiq Manhas under the guidance of SP South, Sandeep Choudhary.
