JAMMU, Nov 22: Government today appointed Presiding Officers for Food Safety Appellate Tribunals constituted vide SRO-42/2016 dated February 10, 2016.
According to an order issued by Dr M K Bhandari, Secretary to Government, Health and Medical Education Department, Mohammad Yousuf Akhoon, District and Sessions Judge (presently Principal Secretary to Chief Justice of J&K High Court) and Maharaj Krishan Hanjura, Member Company Law Board Delhi have been appointed as Presiding Officers for Food Safety Appellate Tribunal, Kashmir and Food Safety Appellate Tribunal, Jammu respectively.
The Presiding Officers shall assume the charge of the respective Tribunals within a period of 21 days from the date of issuance of this notification. The term of Presiding Officers will be five years from the date of joining the assignment or until they attain the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
These appointments have been made by the Government in exercise of powers conferred by Sub-Section (3) of Section 70 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 read with Rule 3.2.1 of Food Safety and Standards Rules, 2011.
