Srinagar, Dec 31: Police in north Kashmir’s Handwara have registered a total of 50 cases under the NDPS Act in the year 2023, with several properties belonging to individuals involved in drug-related activities also being attached.
“Out of these cases, 48 were diligently challaned, ensuring legal actions against the offenders,” the police said, adding this robust enforcement reflects the department’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and curbing the illegal drug trade within the community.

Moreover, the police claim to have seized various substances with an estimated value of one crore, highlighting their success in intercepting and preventing the distribution of narcotics.
It was further stated that, to tackle the roots of the drug trade, the Handwara Police have also attached three properties with an estimated combined worth of 7 crores.
