JAMMU, Feb 4: Shamsher Hakla Poonchi a prominent Gujjar leader and an intellectual of the State has expressed concern that the mobile schools which the Government had setup for nomadic Gujjar and Bakerwal students are not moving with them when they move to the hilly, mountain areas and when they return from there.
In a statement issued here, today he said these mobile schools remain stationery which kills the basic spirit of opening them.
Hakla demanded that the Government should ensure that these mobile schools move with the nomadic Gujjar and Bakerwals.
He appealed the Government for opening the Boarding schools for Gujjar -Bakerwal students in all districts of the State.
He said that the Gujjar and Bakerwal community mostly residing in far flung and hilly areas lack proper education facilities and they face problems during the time of study. So Boarding schools should be setup for them on pattern of Navodiya Vidyalaya in order to solve their problems.
