HYDERABAD : Union Minister of state for Home Affairs Mr.RPN Singh, today called upon the sub officers to prepare themselves to effectively meet the emerging challenges posed by new forms of terrorism and militancy in the country.
In his address after participating in the colorful ceremonial parade of 38th Batch of Sub-Inspector/Executive at the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) here, Mr.Singh stressed upon the growing role of CISF in the changing security scenario, particularly in key areas like Disaster Management (especially NBC disasters), VIP Security,Government Building Security and Aviation Security.
He said institution, upgraded into a National academy barely a decade back, is now widely recognized as a ‘ Centre of Excellence’ in industrial security Management.
It has also become a national level nodal institution for building capacity in specialized fields like disaster response, with ‘ Fire service training institute’ coming under its fold,he said.
NISA has also been identified as one of the nodal training for nuclear, biological and chemical disasters, he said and sure that it will continue to strive to achieve still higher levels of excellence.
Mr.Singh said for growth and ensure investment, presence of a secure environment is the first and foremost pre-requisite. However, some inimical forces want to create an environment of insecurity and uncertainty. This is where the role of CISF is crucial.
It is not a just a uniformed force, but also a catalyst for economic growth of our country, he said the CISF’s role in providing foolproof security at airports and Delhi metro has been widely appreciated.
He said ‘Aspirations and hopes are the essence of life, let us once again rededicate ourselves to cherish and follow the noble ideals which inspired our freedom struggle and endeavour to build a strong, vibrant and secure India’.
Later, Mr.Singh gave away the tropies to the trainees who stood first Indoor, Outdoor, Firing skills and All Round Best.
Earlier, in his wlecome address, CISF Director General Mr.Rajiv complimented the trainee officers for their sincerity and dedication and hoped that the rigors of training imparted at the Academy will make them stand in good stead in their professional carrer.
He also elaborated the expanding role of CISF and correspondingly the wide spectrum of specialized training provided by NISA, the premier Training institution of Central Industrial Security Force(CISF).
A total of 697 Sub-Inspectors/Executive passed out of the Academy after successfully completing their basis training.
The Academy has been recognized as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in the field of Industrial security Training by the Government of India and National Level Institution for building up specialized response teams for Disaster management.
The Academy organizes prestigious In-service courses like Disaster Management, Industrial security, Vertical interaction Courses for senior IPS officers and Aviation security courses.
The academy also conducts courses in association with United States Government and other UN agencies like UNDP, USAID and UNDAC.
National Industrial Security Academy also conducts courses for BPR&D, Indian Air Force and Parliament security. (AGENCIES)
