Guv calls for cooperation between univs, R&D institutes

JAMMU : Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today said there is a need for cooperation between universities and research institutions to carry out research in areas which are relevant for development of the state.

“There is a need for synergy of efforts between different universities and research institutions of the state, particularly in regard to conduct of research in the areas which are relevant for the sustainable development of JK,” Vohra said in his concluding remarks at Indian Science Congress here today.

He was chairing Prof Ram Nath Chopra Symposium.

Vohra suggested that a document based on the presentations made by the panelists should be prepared and submitted to the state government for appropriate action.

Earlier, University of Jammu Vice Chancellor Mohan Paul Singh Ishar said that the conference has brought together distinguished scientists for brainstorming on issues pertaining to Science and Technology.
