POONCH, June 6: The construction work on the road from Gursai to Pathanatir in Mendhar Sub Division of district Poonch is incomplete even after 12 years.
The work on this just 10 kms road was started by PMGSY wing of the R&B Department. The work was abandoned after cutting work for several years. The villagers have expressed strong resentment against the PMGSY authorities in Mendhar for very slow pace of work. They alleged that senior officers have failed to monitor the work.
Locals of the area disclosed that construction work on this 10 km road was started during 2008, which was to be constructed under PMGSY. But unfortunately even after 12 long years the work is still incomplete.
Villagers, Syed Faisal Bukhari and Mohammed Shamim Khan accused the PMGSY officials of causing long delay. They said due to total neglect on their part, this road remained unattended. One contractor has left the job and the other one has not shown progress.
People of the both villages have sought intervention of DC Poonch and Chief Engineer PMGSY Jammu and asked the authorities to expedite work on this road and fix responsibility on the concerned officials responsible for the delay.
