JAMMU, May 27: Senior BJP leader and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor of Ward number 69, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa here today put the completed developmental works worth Rs. 22.15 lakh to public use at Sainik Colony.
These works include upgraded-drains, deep drains and culverts in Sectors B and C of Sainik Colony.
Speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that residents of her Ward were facing problems of water logging during rains for the last so many years and to give them relief the developmental works have been completed well before the onset of monsoons.
“I am doing my best to put PM Modi’s slogan of reaching to the last man in line, on ground and this was possible only due to the relentless support provided by the residents of Sainik Colony,” the Councillor claimed.
She said that polythene bags block drains and culverts and appealed to the residents of her Ward to adhere to the advisories issued by JMC for purchasing carry bags of cellulose-starch and avoid the use of polythene.
Randhawa informed that JMC under the leadership of Mayor Rajinder Sharma is organising a walkathon on May 29, 2023 at 9 am from Parade Ground to Maharaja Hari Singh Park to aware masses about healthy environment by making polythene free Jammu.
She said that maximum number of people should participate in the walkathon.
Ranjit Singh Jasrotia, Amarjit, R.P Singh, Ranjit Singh, Jasrotia, Devinder Sharma, Ashok, Renu, Pooja, Pawan, Inderjeet Kour and others were also present on the occasion.
