NEW DELHI, Oct 12: In an otherwise steady jaggery market, gur chakku declined by Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today following increased supply against reduced offtake.
Marketmen said increased arrivals from manufacturing areas against slackness in demand mainly pulled down gur chakku prices.
In Delhi, gur chakku prices declined from Rs 3,300-3,400 to end at Rs 3,250-3,350 per quintal.
However, gur at Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar markets remained quiet in thin trade.
The following are today’s quotations per quintal:
Gur chakku 3,250-3,350, pedi 3,500-3,600, dhayya 3,700-3,800 and shakkar 3,500-3,600.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,650-2,750, chakku 2,950-3,050 khurpa 3000-3050 and Ladoo 3250-3300.
Muradnagar: Pedi 3200-3,250 and dhayya 3,250-3300. (PTI)
